Thank you Brian for the house rental. 

We had a blast and this will be a birthday that will be talked about for years to come!  Eugene was wonderful.  Do you rent this out by the weekends in the summer?  We would like to make this an annual summer retreat but we normally only go for a weekend or like 3 nights and I know that my mom is interested in doing this for a family reunion but that would also be a long weekend.  Also, I thought I saw on your website that you have a pontoon boat for use.  Is that right?

I wanted to write a little something for your guests to let them know what a great place you have!!

If you're looking for just another "cold and sterile" luxuary resort, then you don't belong here. Otherwise, you're adventure begins the moment you drive up to the "estate." This is a very unique and almost 'magical' place!

Definately not the "same old, same old." When you enter you'll be hit with so many different things, "eye-candy" in a sense, but it goes deeper than that. More than a "visual" experience, there is a great sense of history, whimsy and soul.
No expense has been spared from the extensive collection of "museum quality" wall mountings (try counting them!) to the tiniest of details in the furnishings, woodwork and pictures! Just awesome! Although very "victorian" in some areas, the owner has a distinct touch for the "quirky and unexpected!" I suspect he has the best sense of humor?! What an adventure!

I suggest at least three days if possible to fully explrore every nook and crannie. While it is a bit "pricey", it is a "must see!" They will do everything they can to accomodate you. If you book early you can take advantage of the payment plan.
You should bring plenty of food and drink, because you may not want to venture much further than the beautiful grounds, which seem to be in a constant state of evolving, amazing! Fun, fun, fun, I highly reccomend this "one-of-a-kind, funhouse!" It is truly an 'unforgettable" experience, and best enjoyed in a large group. You will not want for things to do, there is something for everyone to play with and marvel at. Surprise after surprise! The pictures on the website are just as "tease" as to the "vastness" of this place, HUGE! It is not at all "stuffy" as one might think at first glance. In fact, the owner graciously allows for some of the "toys" to be "respectfully" played with!
The grounds keeper, and the owner, are as helpfull and genuine as they come. They will do everything they can to accomodate. You will feel very welcome and comfortable. I will definately be back again someday!

I also really enjoyed the placement of all six bedrooms on the top floor. All are cozy and unique, each with it's own style. They all come complete with patio doors that lead to the huge wrap-a-round porch, very cool! I had the sense of waking up in a very peacefull, giant "treehouse!" When it rained, I was still able to take my daily walk!
Now, for my tips!: If you can bring a few lawn chairs for the "pit" area, lots of towels and maybe a flashlight? Please, don't forget the camera, but most of all, don't forget your "SENSE OF ADVENTURE!"
